Frequently asked questions

What is fleet maintenance software?

Software that keeps a fleet serviced and roadworthy: it tracks each vehicle’s kilometres or hours, raises services before they are due, collects defect reports, records the work done and shows the cost per vehicle.

Can servicing be scheduled by kilometres and by date together?

Yes. A schedule can have a distance or hours interval and a calendar interval at the same time, and the service is raised by whichever falls due first.

Do drivers need an account to report a defect?

No. Drivers scan the QR label on the vehicle with their phone camera and fill in a short form, with photos if they like. If they leave a phone number, updates reach them on WhatsApp.

Can it take odometer readings from our telematics?

Yes, through the readings API. Your telematics provider or integrator posts readings over HTTPS with an integration key, mapped to each vehicle. Vehicles without telematics can have readings entered by hand.

We use outside garages. Is it still useful?

Yes. Hand a work order to an outside garage from inside PieCMMS: they receive the job details on WhatsApp, and the cost and history still land on the vehicle’s record.

Do you also cover our in-house workshop?

Yes. Fleets with their own workshop can also use job cards, parts stores and purchasing. See garage and workshop management.
